DIRECTIONS OF GOPRO MODIFICATION SURGERY IN DETAIL:

 DETAILED Gopro lens change instructions to be read in full:

 We also will include a few extra tools, lubricant, & rubber gaskets to
assist you in uninstalling/changing your current lens to the new
ORIGINAL GOPRO lens.

 A few things you need to know is that when
you are removing the original wide stock gopro lens is that you will
need to find an area to perform this where you have room to work and
maintain the 7 mini screws and 2 buttons that can easily get lost

1st. you will need to activate the video output of the gopro to
perform the live video feed and send it to a tv set using the 2.5mm to
3 way red yellow and white cable that came with your gopro camera
1080p hd.

(note: live video feed firmware may need to be downloaded at the gopro website)

The yellow is for composite video. Or use blue green red for
hdmi out so you can see the image on a lcd full HD while you later on
focus in the new 6mm lens.(we offer monitors of many flavors of lcd's
for the gopro & custom cabling with wireless options also)
Now Take the included small philips screw driver to remove the 4
screws located in the battery compartment, then 3 other screws located
inside by the circuit board right next to the usb port, this will
allow you to remove the front cover.
Now use a heat gun,(hold 5 inches away for a few seconds of heat) or
use hair dryer to heat up the shaft around the stock lens to loosen
NOTE: the glue seal that was originally put on there, takes about 10 - 15
seconds of heating, & will not harm the gopro original lens OR YOUR
CAMERA. EVERYONE HAS HAD GREAT SUCCESS IN THIS!

 WARNING: IF USING A HEAT GUN, DO NOT OVERHEAT THE LENS, THIS CAN
CAUSE THE PLASTIC SHAFT TO MELT & WARP IT SO THE LENS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO THREAD IN CORRECTLY.

(IF THAT HAPPENS TO YOU, THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT
WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON A NEW AFTERMARKET SHAFT FOR THAT CAMERA TO REPLACE THE STOCK SHAFT & IT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE SOON)

 Then insert the included rubber sleeve around the front metal ring
 around the lens & then use some pliers, gripping it tightly but note,
 use the type with the oval hole in the middle of them, not needle
 nose) to grip it so it will not scratch the outer lip of original
 lens.

(you could also wrap electrical tape around the plyers to create
 a no scratching way to coat your plyers
 Its best to over tighten the lens a little at first after you heat it
 up to help break the glue seal then twist counter-clockwise to
unthread the seal. its not that difficult, & should come out very
 easy.
 Thats how we do it here with perfect success every time.

 MAIL US YOUR CAMERA FOR A SMALL EXTRA FEE.

 2. you can now carefully twist out the lens fully counter clockwise
 using your thumb & first finger.

 3.after you remove the stock lens, then carefully thread in the new
 RageCams lens evenly, & it should thread in very smooth with a little
 force needed, if you start to notice its off threading, or need to use
 maximum force to thread it in, then stop and twist it back out, dont
 force it in, or you could ruin the threads in the shaft.

 gopro made the lens shaft out of cheap plastic, & if they were smart
 they should have made it out of metal, but they didnt intend on
 RageCams fabricating aftermarket lenses to fit their camera so they
 went the "El Cheapo Way" in developing this cameras lens shaft.

NOTE: GOPRO DOES NOT LIKE THE IDEA OF YOU CHANGING LENSES ON THEIR
CAMERA, SO MAKE SURE IF YOU EVER HAVE A WARRANTY ISSUE WITH YOUR
CAMERA & ARE REQUESTED TO SEND IT BACK TO GOPRO, YOU WILL NEED TO
INSTALL THE STOCK 1.7MM LENS BACK IN IT, SO IT WILL NEVER LOOK LIKE IT
WAS TAMPERED WITH.
NOTE: IF YOU CUT YOUR OUTER HOUSINGS RING DOWN TO ALLOW ALL LENS
CHANGES, YOUN SHOULD KEEP YOUR OLD OUTER FRONT COVER IF YOU
MODIFIED/CUT IT FOR THE LENS TO BE CHANGED WITHOUT TAKING THE UNIT
APART EVERY TIME. WE WILL LET YOU SEND IT BACK TO US FOR EXCHANGE TO A
PERFECT CONDITION FRONT COVER SO YOU CAN STILL GET IT WARRANTIED.(A
IF YOU BUY THE CAMERA FROM US, WE WILL WARRANTY IT AS LONG AS YOU HAVE
A RAGECAMS LENS ON IT OR THE ORIGINAL GOPRO LENS.
 When threading in any new lens, be sure to use the included lubricant,
Vaseline around the lens threads which we include on a cue tip to help
keep the lens & shaft lubricated so lens change can be done over and
over again without thread damage.
You must absolutely confirm that the lens is going in perfectly even,
then you are good to go & you can then macro focus the lens by looking
at a monitor-tv or lcd composite video out or component out when using
our 7" lcd monitors to set up focus in HD, its awesome!
You Need a battery inserted in the back of the gopro so you can have
it powered while focusing the lens to your exact needs.

4. Be careful that the top function button & front function button do
not get lost in the process.
Now put the gopro back together & use the  o ring we sent that
fits around the lens to hide the circuit board & give that finished
professional look if your not installing the new nv 1.7mm.
